About CANTOLIVE
CantoLive Culture Productions Ltd. is an independent company newly established in British Columbia, Canada, founded and self-funded by a theatre producer and cultural worker with over thirty years of experience in Hong Kong.
After facing many challenges before and after the pandemic and moving to Canada with countless unknowns, a series of events in Hong Kong in mid to late 2025 became a calling to commit to preserving Hong Kong’s Cantonese culture.
Drawing on long-standing experience and networks across theatre, film, publishing, radio, and play licensing, CantoLive seeks to contribute to Hong Kong performing arts and cultural transmission in a concrete way.
In a rapidly changing world, Hong Kong’s Cantonese culture and traditional performing arts are facing unprecedented challenges.
CantoLive believes that only by continual reflection and development—through exchanges between senior and emerging creators, together with active audience participation—can this warm, human, and highly creative culture be carried forward into a new generation.
